Home ownership rules to be relaxed for Viet Kieu

The much-touted easing of home ownership rules for overseas Vietnamese, also known as Viet Kieu, was once again put on the table for discussion at the National Assembly session late last week. Overseas Vietnamese will have a greater chance of buying homes in their homeland as the Government has submitted to the legislature draft revisions to Article 126 of the Housing Law and Article 121 of the Land Law. Vietnam has three million Vietnamese residing abroad and around 70% of them still hold Vietnamese citizenship. However, 140 Viet Kieu have been approved to own homes in the country since the introduction three years ago of the Housing Law. New Train Station in Phan Thiet City

Ngày 7.5, tin từ UBND tỉnh Bình Thuận cho biết đang khẩn trương hoàn tất việc giải phóng mặt bằng để Tổng công ty đường sắt VN tiến hành khởi công xây dựng ga Phan Thiết mới ở ngoại ô TP Phan Thiết ngay trong tháng 5. Ga Phan Thiết mới có kinh phí hơn 135 tỉ đồng bao gồm cả di chuyển ga cũ và nâng cấp 9,5 km đường sắt từ ga Mương Mán về ga Phan Thiết. Hiện nay việc nâng cấp đường đã hoàn chỉnh nên hành trình chạy tàu trên quãng đường này chỉ mất 15 phút thay vì 35 phút như trước đây. Source: binhthuan.gov.vn

SAPro to apply new model for tourism property

HCMC – Saigon Phuong Nam Property Corporation (SAPro) says it will apply a new method called Vacation Ownership to the property complex Sea Links Golf Resort in the coastal resort town of Phan Thiet in an effort to boost business for tourism property projects . Le Minh Tri, general director of SAPro, a member of the Rang Dong Corporation which is the complex project owner, told the Daily that the company would issue Vacation Ownership cards next month, targeting local travelers and expatriates who plan to travel every year. Tri said the company would issue 500 to 1,000 cards whose values range from US$12,000 to US$15,000 each. Card holders are entitled to spend a week in a 300-square meter villa of the resort each year for the next 20 years and may choose any week of the year. Tri said Sea Links Golf Resort would be linked to other resorts around the world through the Resort Condominium International (RCI) which is an organization for room exchange.
